In the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Shuafat, clashes between local residents and security forces have resumed for the second consecutive day.
Videos posted on social media by residents of the neighborhood show participants in the unrest throwing Molotov cocktails and shooting fireworks at vehicles and police.
Yesterday, an Israeli border policeman shot dead a 13-year-old boy who was participating in the riots. "During the violent disorder, a Border Police officer fired a single shot towards the suspect, who shot a firework directly at the security forces, endangering their lives. The suspect was arrested, taken into custody, and transported to the hospital," the police said.
The teenager was taken to hospital, where he died of his wounds. Ministry of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir stated that he fully supports the border police and thanked them for their immediate action.
