The EU's chief diplomat Josep Borrell accused Israel of provoking starvation in the Gaza Strip. According to him, Israelis are using starvation as a weapon of war.
"In Gaza, we are no longer on the brink of famine; we are in a state of famine affecting thousands of people. This is unacceptable," Borrell said at the opening of a conference on humanitarian aid for Gaza in Brussels.
"Before the war, Gaza was the greatest open-air prison. Today, it is the greatest open-air graveyard," Borrell added.
The EU representative blamed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the situation in the Strip, emphasizing that hunger in Gaza is a result of human actions. He urged Israel to allow large-scale food deliveries to Gaza immediately.
