The Israel Defense Forces reports that Israeli troops killed a senior Hamas operative during this morning's raid on Gaza City's Shifa Hospital.
Faiq Mabhouh, head of operations in Hamas's internal security force, was armed and hiding inside the Shifa complex. He was also responsible for the coordination of Hamas terrorist activities in the Gaza Strip. He was operating and advancing terrorist activity from the medical facility.
The IDF was initially trying to arrest the terrorist, but he was killed amid an exchange of fire. In a nearby room, the troops recovered a cache of weapons.
