Knesset approves law to support WWII veterans in asserting their rights
In the final reading, Knesset members voted 16 in favor with no abstentions or votes against approving Amendment 25 to the Legal Aid Law.
Under this amendment, Holocaust survivors, World War II veterans, Moroccans and Algerians who lived under the Vichy regime, and survivors of the Baghdad pogrom (Farhud) will now have access to free legal aid without needing to verify their financial status.
Furthermore, the amendment ensures assistance for World War II veterans in asserting their rights.
