On March 20, a scandal erupted during a plenary session of the Knesset.
Ayman Odeh, the head of the Hadash party, accused IDF soldiers of "killing and condemning Palestinian children to starvation."
"I urge everyone in the opposition to speak out against this government and the atrocities it's committing in Gaza," Odeh declared.
"Why aren't you addressing what happened on October 7th?!" shouted Knesset member Keti Shitrit (Likud) from the chamber.
"We've expressed our moral stance on that issue, but what's unfolding in Gaza is a massacre. It's starving people, inflicting suffering, it's death, death, death!" shouted Odeh from the Knesset podium.
Deputy Speaker of the Knesset, Hanoch Milwidsky (Likud), ejected Odeh from the podium, and when he refused to leave, he was escorted out of the hall.
Knesset member Aida Touma-Suleiman (Hadash), who also loudly accused IDF soldiers of committing war crimes, was escorted out of the meeting room.
