On March 18, the IDF, AMAN, and Shin Bet conducted an operation in Rafah, located in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, during which they targeted senior Hamas activists who were part of the "emergency commission."
According to a statement from the IDF Spokesperson's Unit, the operation was aimed at Hamas officials who facilitated the militants' takeover of Rafah.
The individuals eliminated in the operation were Said Katab al-Hashash, Osama Hamid Shahir, Muhammad Uz al-Malali, Hadi Abu al-Rus, and Nasal al-Id.
Nasal al-Eid served as the head of the "emergency commission" in Rafah, while the others led regional departments of the local "Ministry of Emergency Situations."
Hamas alleges that the IDF and Israeli security services are destabilizing civilian administration in Gaza by targeting police officers who oversee the distribution of humanitarian aid as well as emergency management officials responsible for refugee housing and support.
