This week, Brigade Combat Team 401, Naval Special Forces Shayetet 13, Shin Bet operatives, and coordinators at 162 Division Headquarters carried out a special operation at Shifa Hospital.
The division operated for a week in the north and center of the Gaza Strip, dealing a significant blow to Hamas' terrorist capabilities.
About 600 terrorists had been arrested, and more than 140 terrorists were killed in shootouts.
During the search of the hospital complex, large quantities of weapons and ammunition were discovered, along with a trove of materials and intelligence data. The analysis of this data helps in planning the continuation of hostilities more effectively.
Islamic Jihad militants who were hiding in the hospital decided to surrender, including high-ranking commanders of the organization. All surrendered individuals were taken for interrogation by the Shin Bet.
Among those arrested were Husam Salameh, in charge of observers in the Gaza Division, and his brother Wasam Salameh, responsible for military propaganda for Islamic Jihad.
Additionally, three senior activists from the West Bank headquarters of Hamas were arrested. They control and direct terrorist activities in Judea and Samaria.
Those apprehended include Amar Atsida, head of the Nablus committee of Hamas, Mahmoud Qawasme, involved in organizing and carrying out the kidnapping and murder of three Israeli teenagers in 2014, and Hamdallah Hassan Ali, implicated in terror development in Judea and Samaria over the past years. All were sent for interrogation by the Shin Bet.
The military operation at Shifa Hospital continues, marked by numerous clashes and shootings. Armed forces persist in searching the hospital complex, locating ammunition, and apprehending or neutralizing terrorists.
