Israeli media: IDF hit al-Jama'a al-Islamiyya fighters in Lebanon, not medics
The Israeli media reports that the IDF killed members of the terror group al-Jama'a al-Islamiyya in a strike in Lebanon's Habbariyah, not a paramedic group as the Lebanese Ambulance Association claims.
According to the reports in Ynet and Yedioth Ahronoth, the terrorist squad eliminated on the night of March 27 in southern Lebanon was planning to carry out a ground attack on Israeli territory or shell it from the border area, apparently near Mount Dov.
In total, over the past two days, 12 terrorists were killed as a result of IDF strikes in Lebanon. Seven of them belonged to the Lebanese Sunni Islamist movement al-Jama'a al-Islamiyya. Earlier, Hezbollah claimed that the slain individuals were "paramedics."
Since October 7, Sunni militants from Lebanese Hamas and al-Jama'a al-Islamiyya have actively participated in the war against Israel alongside Shiite Hezbollah fighters.
Ynet also reports that in response to the morning shelling of Kiryat Shmona, which resulted in the death of an Israeli, the IDF attacked Hezbollah targets in the border area and two "important targets" deep in Lebanon.
