Hamas: Israeli strike kills foreign aid workers in Gaza
The Israeli Air Force targeted a passenger car in the central part of the Gaza Strip, specifically in Deir al-Balah.
According to reports from Palestinian news agencies, the vehicle belonged to an international humanitarian organization.
The Palestinian Information Center states that all those killed were employees of the United Nations (UN) and were involved in delivering and distributing humanitarian aid to civilians in the area.
Hamas released a statement saying that the Israeli strike killed citizens from Great Britain, Poland, and Australia, along with the Palestinian driver. The nationality of one other deceased individual is still being confirmed.
The IDF press office reported: "Following reports of an incident involving employees of World Central Kitchen (WCK) in Gaza, the IDF has launched a thorough investigation with top officials to understand the full circumstances. The IDF is working closely with WCK to ensure safe humanitarian aid efforts and to support their assistance to Gaza residents."
WCK management, in response to the deaths of five employees in Gaza, stated: "This is a tragedy. Aid workers and civilians should never be targeted."
