The Ministry of Education has issued a notice to yeshiva directors regarding the suspension of payments for students liable for military service.
"We're writing to inform you about the April 2024 payment transfers. Please be aware that, as per the High Court of Justice ruling, starting April 1, 2024, payments cannot be made for students without military service exemption or deferment or those who failed to report for conscription after July 1, 2023, as well as for students whose deferment has expired. Consequently, payments for these students will cease from April 1, 2024.
It's worth noting that earlier this week, several influential ultra-Orthodox rabbis announced plans to organize a fundraiser for yeshiva financing."
