Three Arab Israelis planned terrorist attacks at police station and Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem
Jerusalem district police and Shin Bet said in a statement that Israeli security forces have thwarted a terrorist plot by three East Jerusalem men who had sworn allegiance to Islamic State.
According to the police, two residents of Arab neighborhoods in Jerusalem in their twenties planned to place explosives and carry out a shooting attack on a police station in East Jerusalem and at Teddy Stadium.
They then contacted the third person, around fifty years old, who advised them on their planned attack and urged them to undergo military training abroad to carry out attacks against Israeli citizens upon their return.
Security services arrested the men several weeks ago before they could leave the country. The Jerusalem Magistrate's Court has extended their detention several times, and charges will soon be brought against them. Details are expected to follow after the indictment.
