The family of 19-year-old IDF soldier Liri Albag, who was kidnapped on October 7 in Nahal Oz, received a funeral wreath of flowers from unknown senders on Sunday, April 7. This marks six months since her abduction.
Concerned, the family contacted security services. The Shin Bet suspects "Iranian sources" sent the wreath to psychologically pressure the family.
This isn't the first time such tactics have been used. Security services have been tracking Iran's efforts to target Israeli security officers' families, using fake online platforms to send threatening messages and gifts.
These platforms target families of Israelis held hostage by Hamas and Israeli security officers. Additionally, Iran's intelligence agencies engage in various covert activities such as distributing posters made in Iran, photographing demonstrators, conducting fake surveys, and more. These surveys are used to gather information about Israeli citizens.
Liri Albag's family, from a small moshav in central Israel, has been featured in various publications, including the British Daily Mail, following her abduction.
