Ben Gvir: If war ends without Rafah op, Netanyahu can't serve as PM
Far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir has issued a threat against Prime Minister Netanyahu not to halt the war in Gaza.
"If the prime minister decides to end the war without a large-scale offensive in Rafah to defeat Hamas, he will not have a mandate to continue serving as prime minister," Ben-Gvir stated.
The statement was made against the backdrop of the IDF's withdrawal from Khan Yunis and reports of progress in negotiations for a ceasefire deal, under which Israel would agree to a cessation of hostilities.
This is the first statement from representatives of the right-wing flank of the coalition following reports of the IDF's withdrawal from Khan Yunis.
