Netivot mayor detained over corruption allegations
Two days ago, investigators from the Israel Police's LAHAV 433 Unit detained Netivot's mayor, Yehiel Zohar, on suspicion of corruption.
Several other individuals were also detained in connection with the case.
Following interrogation, Zohar was placed under house arrest for five days.
Yehiel Zohar, who has been in office since 1989, is one of Israel's longest-serving mayors.
