The head of the Shas party, Aryeh Deri, criticized the actions of Benny Gantz's Mahane Mamlahti bloc regarding the draft law in an interview with the party publication Ha-Derech.

Deri accused Gantz and Mahane Mamlakhti of obstructing the possibility of reaching an agreement, stating, "Gantz is my friend, but this is what is happening at the moment."

He condemned Gantz's bill, which he believes aims to undermine the Torah's principles, noting that its approval is unlikely.

Deri expressed regret over Defense Minister Yoav Gallant's linkage of the law's approval with Gantz's agreement to proposals, emphasizing the absence of a solution at present.

Regarding the ongoing conflict, Deri urged against opening a new front, emphasizing the need to focus on resolving the situation in Gaza and addressing the plight of Israelis held by Hamas and displaced individuals.
