The Hamas-run Gaza health ministry says a total of 34,262 Palestinians have died in the Gaza Strip since the start of hostilities on October 7. 77,229 people sustained injuries of varying severity.
According to the organization, in the last 24 hours alone, 79 people were killed during ongoing hostilities in Gaza, with an additional 86 individuals reported injured.
The figures provided by Hamas are unverified. The ministry does not specify how many of the deceased and injured belonged to terrorist groups.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has repeatedly emphasized its inability to verify or refute the accuracy of the data provided by the Gaza health ministry. However, a study published in the Lancet in January indirectly suggested that the Gaza health ministry's figures may be close to reality.
According to the IDF reports, dozens of terrorists from various groups are eliminated daily in Gaza. The IDF estimates that some 14,000 terrorists and their commanders have been neutralized since the start of the conflict. Hamas has acknowledged the deaths of around 6,000 of its fighters.
The Gaza health ministry doesn't distinguish between civilian casualties and combatants and attributes all casualties to actions by the IDF.
