Soldiers from the 99th Ha-Esh Division, currently deployed in the central part of the Gaza Strip, conducted a commemorative ceremony on Holocaust Remembrance Day, a day established to honor the six million Jews who perished during World War II at the hands of the Nazis and their collaborators.
According to a statement from the IDF Spokesperson's Unit, the ceremonies included speeches and discussions about the history and memory of the six million victims, as well as commemorating the Heroes of the Resistance.
Video footage released by an army press office showed soldiers from the Gaza-based 99th Division paying respects to the deceased during a two-minute mourning siren that resonated across Israel at 10 a.m.
