In Jerusalem, US Ambassador Jack Lou met with Aryeh Deri, the leader of the ultra-Orthodox Shas party.
According to sources close to Deri, during the meeting, they discussed issues related to the progress of the war in Gaza and the prospects for the release of hostages.
The US reportedly considers Deri one of the most moderate representatives of the current coalition. Perhaps the US Ambassador's meeting with him aimed to influence the government's position on the ceasefire deal with Hamas.
