Kerem Shalom crossing reopens for humanitarian aid passage into Gaza

On Wednesday morning, May 8, the Kerem Shalom checkpoint near the southern border of the Gaza Strip was reopened to facilitate the passage of humanitarian aid into Gaza.

The Israeli Ministry of Defense emphasizes that all humanitarian aid undergoes thorough screening by security officials before reaching Gaza.

The Kerem Shalom checkpoint was previously closed from May 5 to May 7 following mortar attacks. A mortar attack on May 5 in the vicinity resulted in the deaths of four IDF soldiers and injuries to several others.
