The deputy defense establishment comptroller Brig. Gen. Yogev Bar Sheshet was moderately wounded by gunfire shrapnel during combat operations in the Zeitoun neighborhood in northern Gaza on Friday, the IDF says.
The IDF reports that Bar Sheshet was moderately wounded and was subsequently rushed to Ichilov Hospital for further medical treatment.
Bar Sheshet, 45, currently serves as the deputy head of the Civil Administration in Judea and Samaria. Previously, he commanded the Yoav Brigade. Before that, he served as the operations officer of the Southern District and commanded the 50th Battalion of the Nahal Brigade.
Five Nahal soldiers were killed fighting Hamas in Zeitoun on Friday.
