Remembrance Day ceremony in Sderot moved to missile-proof location
After another rocket attack on Sderot, Mayor Alon Davidi decided to relocate the Day of Remembrance ceremony for those killed in wars and terrorist attacks from the street to a hall fortified against rocket attacks.
Just three days ago, Mayor Alon Davidi criticized the government's decision to withdraw soldiers guarding educational institutions from Sderot. He accused the Ministry of Defense of breaching guarantees and obligations made by senior military personnel to city residents upon their return home.
On Sunday, May 12, Sderot experienced two rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip. The most recent alarm sounded at 5:05 PM. The mayor's office reported that four rockets were launched toward the city, with two intercepted by the Iron Dome, while the others landed in undeveloped areas.
