Israeli fighter jets destroyed a Hamas command post in UNRWA school in Gaza
During a joint operation between the IDF and the Shin Bet, a Hamas command room was located and destroyed by fighter jets, the IDF says.
More than 15 operatives, including 10 Hamas members, were killed in the strike, according to the military. In addition, among the dead, there were also terrorists of Hamas’s elite Nukhba force who participated in the October 7 massacre.
The IDF says that Hamas used the command room to plan attacks against troops operating in central Gaza in recent weeks. It was situated in a UNRWA school in central Gaza’s Nuseirat.
The Israel Defense Forces says that Hamas systematically exploits international institutions and civilian objects as human shields for terror against Israel. Israel has previously accused UNRWA of enabling Hamas to use its facilities in Gaza for terror.
The strike was carried out following “accurate intelligence” provided by the Shin Bet security agency and Military Intelligence Directorate. The IDF used precise munitions to avoid harming civilians as much as possible.
