Dozens of students participated in an event commemorating "Nakba Day" (the Palestinian term for the creation of the State of Israel) at Tel Aviv University. The event, organized by the university branch of the Hadash party, was conducted with police approval, though restrictions were imposed on the demonstration.
The display of flags was banned, a rule promptly violated by the protesters. Palestinian flags were prominently featured at the demonstration, alongside speeches condemning the occupation and demanding an immediate end to the conflict in the Gaza Strip.
Simultaneously, a counter-protest against the pro-Palestinian demonstration was organized by the "Im Tirtzu" movement. Enhanced police presence maintained order and prevented clashes between representatives of both sides.
