Border Police says that on the morning of Sunday, May 19, a Palestinian attempted to carry out a stabbing attack with a screwdriver at a checkpoint near the West Bank town of Abu Dis, on the outskirts of Jerusalem.
The attacker was shot and killed by the Border Police. There were no injuries among the Israeli border police officers.
Before being shot, the suspect drew the screwdriver and ran toward the officers while shouting “Allahu akbar” (God is great).
