IDF plans to deploy cannons along northern border to counter Hezbollah drones
The Israeli Ministry of Defense has reached out to both local and foreign defense companies seeking to purchase a significant quantity of Vulcan M61 six-barreled rapid-fire guns.
As reported by Walla, these guns are intended to be mounted on armored personnel carriers and strategically positioned along the Israeli-Lebanese border to counter Hezbollah drones.
Israeli Air Force and missile defense systems have encountered challenges in detecting and intercepting low-flying, slow-moving kamikaze drones. The utilization of Vulcan systems as anti-aircraft guns aims to address this issue.
