The IDF says that there was a shootout with terrorists during a counter-terrorism operation in Jenin, which began Tuesday morning in collaboration with Shin Bet. Strikes were carried out against terrorist infrastructure.

The operation was based on intelligence from Shin Bet regarding terrorist activity in the Jenin area linked to Hamas and Islamic Jihad.

Israeli soldiers engaged in a firefight with terrorists and worked to dismantle terrorist infrastructure. Reports indicate several Palestinian militants were injured in the shootout. Palestinian sources previously reported seven dead and 20 wounded. There have been no reports of casualties among Israeli troops.

Amid the IDF’s ongoing raid, troops also demolished the home of Ahmed Barakat, a Palestinian terrorist involved in the killing of Meir Tamari in a shooting attack near the settlement of Hermesh in May 2023. Barakat was killed in a drone strike in March.
