The ambassadors of Spain, Norway, and Ireland visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday, May 23, at the request of Foreign Minister Israel Katz.
Following their recognition of a Palestinian state, Ireland, Norway, and Spain were invited for an "explanatory conversation". During the meeting, they watched a video depicting Hamas' capture of female IDF observers at a base in Nahal Oz.
Israeli Foreign Ministry Director General Kobi Blitstein initiated the conversation by stating, “You were invited to discuss the ramifications of your countries' recognition of the Palestinian state. We will show you a video of Hamas' actions.”
“This is a shocking and unimaginable video,” remarked Spanish Ambassador to Israel Anna Salomon. “Spain remains a friend of Israel.”
