IDF on fire in Rafah tent camp: 'The incident is under review'
The IDF has responded to reports in Arab and Palestinian media about a fire in a displaced people camp in Rafah following an airstrike by the Israeli Air Force.
The IDF reported that the target of the strike was high-ranking operatives within the Hamas.
"A short while ago, an IDF aircraft struck a Hamas compound in Rafah in which significant Hamas terrorists were operating. The strike was carried out against legitimate targets under international law, using precise munitions and on the basis of precise intelligence that indicated Hamas' use of the area," the IDF said.
The IDF said it is aware of the fire that was ignited in the area of the strike, resulting in injuries to "several civilians" and will investigate the incident.
