Matanyahu Englman appointed President of European Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions
Amidst a crisis in relations between European countries and Israel, State Comptroller Matanyahu Engelman has been appointed president of the European Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (EUROSAI). He is the first Israeli state comptroller to hold this position.
The goal of EUROSAI is to foster professional cooperation among state comptrollers in Europe, encourage the exchange of information and knowledge, and promote research in public auditing both in practical and theoretical terms.
Every three years, the EUROSAI Congress is held, bringing together state comptrollers from member countries to officially mark the beginning of the new president's term. Due to the Israel–Hamas war, the congress, which was supposed to take place in Israel, is being conducted online.
