On Tuesday, May 28, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the IDF Northern District Intelligence Branch base alongside Military Intelligence Directorate chief Aharon Haliva and the head of Signal Intelligence Unit 8200. He received a briefing on the intelligence situation on the northern front and regional threats and spoke with officers and soldiers.
Prime Minister Netanyahu addressed Golani Brigade soldiers during his visit.
"I am here with the soldiers of the Golani Brigade - a distinguished unit that has fought in Gaza, in Judea and Samaria, and is now here on the northern border. They have lost comrades but not their fighting spirit. Their achievements are remarkable.
We came to the north a day after the government approved a NIS 3.5 billion program to immediately assist northern residents in restoring communities. In 45 days, an additional NIS 3 billion will be allocated. And that's not all. In both the civilian and military spheres, we are committed to returning the residents safely to their communities and homes. This is one of the objectives of the war, and we are not conceding it.
I am here with you, I hear you, I see your determination, I see the fire in your eyes, and I would say to the citizens of Israel: this is the iron wall of the State of Israel. We will achieve this goal with these remarkable fighters and their comrades."
The Prime Minister's Office's press service reported that Benjamin Netanyahu was accompanied on this trip by Chief of Staff Tzachi Braverman, National Security Advisor Tzachi Hanegbi, and Military Secretary Gen. Roman Goffman.
