Fires in northern Israel, Route 85 blocked
The traffic police press service announced that Route 85 is closed between the Amiad and Kadarim intersections due to a fire near Moshav Kahal that is spreading toward the highway.
Fire services reported at least 15 fires near the Lebanon border. In Kiryat Shmona, the fire is advancing toward the Bimat Tel Chai neighborhood in the city's north. Ten fire crews are battling to contain it.
Five fire brigades are also deployed around Mount Keren Naftali. Local self-defense units are dousing homes with water in nearby settlements to prevent them from catching fire from airborne sparks carried by the wind.
