The Shas party has officially declared its support for the Israeli proposal for a deal with Hamas, as presented by US President Joe Biden.
At yesterday’s faction meeting, a decision was made to announce support for the deal.
“The proposal contains far-reaching and serious steps towards the return of the hostages and the fulfillment of the mitzvah of bringing about the release of captured Jews,” Shas said in their official statement.
“The Shas party declares its support for this deal and calls on the Prime Minister and all those involved in this process to continue their efforts and finalize negotiations to free our brothers and sisters in distress,” the Sephardic ultra-Orthodox party says.
It was also reported that the United Torah Judaism party supports the deal.
