Ben Gvir calls on Netanyahu to clarify position on deal
The head of the Otzma Yehudit party, Itamar Ben Gvir, plans to publicly demand that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu clarify his stance on the deal with Hamas, according to reports from the Kan Corporation.
Ben Gvir is not willing to wait for the deal to progress and has indicated that he will leave the government if Netanyahu does not provide satisfactory clarifications.
Sources close to Ben Gvir assert that Hamas's negative response to the proposed deal does not change his expectations from the prime minister.
In a recent announcement, the Otzma Yehudit party declared their intention to boycott votes in the Knesset, stating, “Due to the prime minister's concealment of the draft deal (with Hamas) from us, we will act according to our conscience and do not consider ourselves obliged to follow coalition discipline.”
