Officer Arnon Zamora dies of wounds sustained during hostage rescue op in Nuseirat
Israeli police say that Chief Inspector Arnon Zamora, an officer of the elite Yamam counter-terrorism unit, wounded in the hostage rescue operation in Nuseirat in the central Gaza Strip, has died, police say.
He was transported to a hospital in Israel in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries despite the efforts of the medical staff.
Arnon Zamora was 36 years old. On October 7, he was among those who fought against dozens of terrorists in Kibbutz Yad Mordechai. He is survived by his wife and two children.
During the IDF, Shin Bet, and Israeli police special operation in Nuseirat on Saturday, June 8, four Israeli hostages were rescued. They are Noa Argamani, 26; Shlomi Ziv, 40; Almog Meir Jan, 21; and Andrey Kozlov, 27.
