Four men shot in Jerusalem's Old City by off-duty Israeli soldier, one in serious condition
According to police, an off-duty Israeli soldier shot four Arab men on David Street, which separates the Christian and Armenian Quarters in Jerusalem's Old City. One of the men is seriously injured, and another three are lightly hurt. They have been transported to Shaare Zedek Medical Center.
Arab media reports indicate that an Israeli soldier shot the owner of a small Arab shop in the Old City.
An Israeli monitoring group, which tracks incidents in hotspots, suggested that there was an attempted weapon theft from an Israeli, and the attacker was subdued. Police are investigating the claim that the suspect attempted to snatch one of the soldier's weapons.
Police are investigating if the soldier, along with other off-duty troops, were involved in an incident of violence with the suspect before the shooting.
