Washington Free Beacon: Journalist holding hostages in Nuseirat linked to Iran
On June 9, the IDF said that an investigation conducted jointly with the Shin Bet revealed that three hostages – Almog Meir Jan, Andrey Kozlov, and Shlomi Ziv – were held in Nuseirat at the home of Al Jazeera correspondent Abdallah Aljamal. Al Jazeera denied that Aljamal was associated with their channel, but his name had frequently appeared in Al Jazeera reports in the past.
The Washington Free Beacon reports that Aljamal was working for Hamas and was linked to both Qatar's Al Jazeera and the Iranian regime.
The publication states that Aljamal often wrote for the US-registered site Palestine Chronicle. The site's founder and chief editor, Ramzy Baroud, formerly served as an editor and executive for Al Jazeera. Baroud defended the actions of terrorists on October 7, 2023, and has written for the Iranian publication Kayhan International, which is funded by the office of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
According to The Washington Free Beacon, at least six other authors from Palestine Chronicle are also connected to Iranian propaganda sites. Based on the information presented, there are grounds to believe that not only the founder of Palestine Chronicle but also the publication itself is linked to Tehran.
