The IDF has says it will increase humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, following additional discussions with the UN and other international organizations. The military will carry out a daily "tactical pause of military activity" between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. along a road that leads from the Kerem Shalom Crossing to the Salah a-Din road and then northward toward the Khan Younis area.
This announcement does not mean that the IDF will completely cease military operations in the Gaza Strip during these times. It specifically applies to the area mentioned in the official IDF statement.
Due to many media outlets misinterpreting the IDF's announcement, the command reiterated: "The IDF makes it clear that there is no cessation of military operations in the southern Gaza Strip, and operations in Rafah continue. There are also no changes to the import of goods into the Gaza Strip. The corridor for delivering goods will be open during the day in coordination with international organizations solely for transporting humanitarian aid."
The IDF says the pauses started yesterday.
