Israeli authorities thwart weapon smuggling attempt at Eilat border
Israeli police, border guards, and the IDF intercepted 17 Glock 19 pistols being smuggled from Jordan. These weapons are valued at about 700 thousand shekels.
The pistols were found in a car at the Rabin border crossing near Eilat. The driver, a young man from the Bedouin village of Bir Hadaj, stated he was returning to Israel after vacationing in Jordan.
The detainee's arrest has been extended until June 20 by the court.
