On the night of June 20, the Israeli military detained Aziz Dweik, a prominent Hamas leader and speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council, in Hebron.
Dweik, 76, was arrested just six days after being released from an eight-month administrative detention.
Dweik was previously detained on October 13, 2023, following a Hamas attack on Israel. He has been imprisoned multiple times, including during the 2014 Operation Come Back, Brothers, and after the 2006 kidnapping of Gilad Shalit.
