IDF says Israeli citizen killed in West Bank town of Qalqilya
The IDF has reported that an Israeli citizen was killed in the West Bank town of Qalqilya.
The military says troops have entered the area and that the IDF and Israel Police are investigating the incident
According to preliminary data, unknown assailants fired at a car with Israeli license plates.
Palestinian media reported that the Palestinian Red Crescent transferred the victim to an Israeli ambulance. During this time, unknown individuals set fire to his vehicle.
Sources in Gaza report that the terrorist organization Hamas welcomed the killing of the Israeli citizen, stating that "such killings are the best way to counter the occupiers' aggression." However, Hamas did not claim responsibility for the murder.
According to Palestinian security services, the deceased Israeli was known in Qalqilya for purchasing vegetables from local vendors for the past ten years.
This is the second murder of an Israeli citizen in Qalqilya in the past three days. On June 20, a 70-year-old man was brought to the Eliyahu checkpoint in Samaria in an unconscious state and later died. The man had driven into Qalqilya, where he was robbed, and his car was stolen.
