Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has departed for Washington, where he is scheduled to meet with US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and other senior American officials and military personnel.

"Relations with the United States are more important than ever. Meetings with top government officials are crucial for the future outcomes of the war. The United States is our most important and primary ally, and our ties these days are more significant than ever," Gallant said in a statement before flying to Washington.

Galant also emphasized the importance of transitioning to "Phase 3" of the military operation in the Gaza Strip. He mentioned that he intends to discuss this with senior US administration officials and expressed confidence that "close cooperation" will be achieved.
