Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke at a Knesset plenary session on the eve of the "40 signatures" meeting, where 40 deputies demanded his appearance. His speech addressed the "submarine case," for which he and other high-ranking leaders received warning letters, as well as the ongoing war in Gaza and other national issues.
Netanyahu began by stating, "The State of Israel is fighting for its existence." He highlighted that Israel is fighting on seven fronts, with Iran being a significant adversary. "The deeper we go into the Gaza Strip, the more evidence we see of an irreconcilable struggle against us; we face the most challenging tasks and difficult decisions."
He promised to achieve three goals: the return of 120 hostages, both living and dead; adherence to the Israeli deal proposed by US President Joe Biden; and the return of evacuated residents in the south and north of Israel.
Regarding the "submarine case," Netanyahu commented, "During the war, I will not make statements about the commission of inquiry. But the decisions I made regarding submarines then saved many lives during the current war. I am ready for a commission of inquiry for the sake of the people of Israel and our heroic soldiers."
Netanyahu criticized those "trying to weaken the spirit of our heroically fighting soldiers," accusing them of "incitement, insults, normalization of violence, and suggesting that the IDF cannot win." He emphasized, "This is a minority, and the majority of our people understand that we must unite and fight together against our enemies."
