In a joint IDF, Shin Bet, and police operation, a Palestinian gunman behind shooting attacks against the Israeli town of Bat Hefer was arrested, police announced.

The gunman, named Amar Nasrallah, was arrested on June 5 in the Tulkarem camp.

According to an official statement, Nasrallah admitted during interrogation to being a member of a terrorist group that carried out shooting attacks on towns near the border fence. In addition, Nasrallah incriminated other suspects belonging to the cell.

During the arrest, Nasrallah attempted to flee and subsequently was shot and wounded.
