The Israel Defense Forces have identified the soldier who was killed in a stabbing attack at a shopping center in Karmiel.
The victim, 19-year-old Sgt. Aleksandr Iakiminskyi, from Nahariya, served as a truck driver in the 188th Armored Brigade’s 71st Battalion.
The family of the fallen soldier has been notified of his death.
Another soldier of the 71st Battalion was seriously wounded in the terror attack. Both were in uniform at the time.
Despite being fatally wounded, Iakiminskyi managed to shoot the terrorist, identified by security officials as Jawwad Omar Rubia, an Israeli citizen from the Arab town of Nahf.
