Attorney General Gali Baharav Miara has urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to transfer Palestinian prisoners, including Hamas terrorists, from the Sde Teiman detention center to a facility with better conditions, warning of serious consequences if ignored.

In early June, the government assured the High Court of Justice that Sde Teiman would revert to its original role as a temporary detention center by the end of the month. However, Baharav Miara’s demand indicates that this promise was not kept.

Reports indicate that conditions at Sde Teiman do not meet legal standards, with allegations of torture and inhumane treatment. Some detainees are Palestinians from the Gaza conflict who are not affiliated with terrorist organizations.

In an interview with The News of Israel, a reserve soldier who served as a guard and paramedic at Sde Teiman, described severe overcrowding, unsanitary conditions, and a lack of accountability.
