IDF operation in Gaza overnight: Fighting in south of Strip
Overnight on July 5, the IDF continued its operations in the Gaza Strip. Information about the overnight combat operations came exclusively from sources in Gaza.
Throughout the night, the IDF conducted strikes on targets in both the northern and southern parts of the Gaza Strip. According to available reports, the main combat actions took place in the Strip's southern part. In the north of Gaza, IDF artillery shelled targets in the areas of Gaza City and Beit Lahia. The IDF struck the home of the Rajab family in Zeitoun, on the southeastern outskirts of Gaza City, and airstrikes targeted locations in the eastern part of Gaza City.
In the southern part of the Strip, Israeli armored vehicles were spotted in the areas of Abu Halawa and Abu al-Hussein, east of Rafah. IDF artillery shelled targets in the Khan Younis area, and reports indicated fighting in the eastern part of Khan Younis. Artillery also shelled targets in the An-Nasr area, northeast of Rafah. Airstrikes hit a non-residential building in east of Khan Younis, and the IDF struck the home of the Radwan family in Bani Suheila, eastern Khan Younis, resulting in fatalities. Reports indicated combat actions in the southeast of Khan Younis.
The IDF has not yet commented on the combat operations in Gaza on July 5.
