The IDF reported an operation at the UNRWA headquarters in Gaza, which was used by Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists.
During the night of July 8, forces from the IDF's 99th Division and Shin Bet conducted an operation in Gaza City, including at the UNRWA headquarters. The operation resulted in the elimination and arrest of numerous terrorists. Military forces demolished a tunnel located beneath the UNRWA building.
Inside the UNRWA facility and in underground chambers, weapons were found, along with rooms presumably used as prison cells for interrogations.
The IDF emphasized that every effort was made to minimize harm to civilians during the planning and execution of the operation.
