Defense Minister Yoav Gallant addressed the Knesset plenary session on Wednesday, July 10, stating that 60% of Hamas terrorists have been killed or disabled, with 24 terrorist battalions, mostly destroyed.
He also discussed the draft of ultra-Orthodox youths, indicating that the IDF plans to accept 3,000 recruits this year. From the next draft in July-August 2024 until the following summer, an additional 3,000 ultra-Orthodox youths are expected to join the army.
Gallant emphasized the importance of maintaining a high recruitment rate to enhance the IDF's operational capabilities, stressing the need for a positive process without causing societal division.
"We aim for a smooth operational integration," Gallant emphasized, highlighting the army's adjustments to accommodate ultra-Orthodox conscripts.
