The names of two Israelis killed in a rocket attack by Hezbollah terrorists on July 9 in the Golan Heights have been released.

Noa and Nir Barnes, both 46 years old and residents of Ortal village, were identified. They leave behind three children, ages 13, 16, and 18.

The couple had lived in Ortal since 2012. Nir was a poultry farmer who previously worked in tourism and culture, while Noa worked as a secretary for an agricultural company.

The fatal incident occurred around 7:00 PM during heavy rocket fire on Israeli territory. One of the rockets struck their car, resulting in their immediate deaths. Rescue services responded amidst ongoing rocket fire, and the IDF reported approximately 40 rockets launched from Lebanon into Israel.

Hezbollah claimed responsibility, citing retaliation for an attack on the Damascus-Beirut highway targeting a former bodyguard of Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah. They stated the attack was aimed at Israeli military installations in the Golan Heights.
