Border police officers detained a 50-year-old resident of the Arab quarter at a checkpoint near the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron after he pulled a knife from his bag and attempted to attack them.
No one was hurt. The attacker was disarmed and detained, then handed over to General Security Service (Shin Bet) investigators for questioning.
Police report that this is the second incident near the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron in the past week.
